Change Order

Compliance - A change order is a written agreement that updates a construction contract when the work’s scope needs to change.

What Are Change Orders in Roofing?

Change orders are common when work reveals conditions that were hidden during estimating. In roofing, the most common example is damaged roof decking that was concealed beneath the roof system until the existing roof was removed. Because change orders modify the contract itself, they are likely to affect a project’s cost, timeline or both.

A change order documents the revised scope before the additional work is performed, creating a record of what changed and why.
